Breakout/Escape Room: Energy Efficiency

Three storage containers of different sizes and blue lightbox (used to test efficiency of three lightbulbs)
Add to Check Out

Have you ever participated in a breakout room or escape room where you had to solve clues and try to "escape" in one hour? This is a portable energy efficiency-themed breakout room we have developed for Kansas students and educators. Make sure to watch the intro video(s) below for more information about this great resource.

Important info:

  • The breakout room kit comes in a storage container (29"x15"x21")
  • We recommend no more than 7-8 students per breakout room. There are two available.
  • We have used this breakout room with students as young as 5th-6th grade; you will likely just need to give more hints to younger students. The instructions include options to simplify the breakout room for younger students.
  • The breakout room is designed to last one hour, but can be shortened to approximately 40 minutes.
  • You should plan on setting up the breakout room in an area at least 10'x10' with one or two tables and a wall to hang posters on (painters tape included). It will take approximately 30 minutes to set up.
  • Instructions are included with the kit (or you can ask us to come out and facilitate the breakout room).
  • This activity works great as a follow-up to our lightbox!
