Students strategically plan and deploy devices to collect data on behavior (energy conservation). Students will learn how to use HOBOware software to program data loggers. There are many options of data loggers that you can check out in our Equipment Library. To quickly find what's in our library, filter to "Dataloggers" under "Equipment Type" in the yellow navigation bar.
Students will use scientific tools to conduct an investigation on thermal energy. Discuss conductors and insulators, state your claim, evidence, and reasoning and tell us the most efficient type of insulation material from your experiment!

This kit can be used with our Energy Stations Lesson on our Activities and Curricula page as well as within our K-12 Energy Benchmarking Project.
After a quick demonstration by the teacher, students will team up in pairs or small groups and rotate from one energy station to another to learn about different forms of energy and energy transformations.
