The HOBO Occupancy/Light Data Loggers do exactly what you would think: they log data about how often lights are on or off in a room and whether that room is occupied. They are a great way to analyze which rooms could benefit from motion sensors to turn lights on or off. If you are looking for a project where students must collect and analyze data, this is an excellent option.
There are two options available: UX90-005x and UX90-006x. The UX90-005x detects motion up to 5 meters (16.4 ft) away, while the UX90-006x detects motion up to 12 meters (39.4 ft) away. You will need to download the HOBOware program for Windows or Mac.
