KidWind Challenge Registration

2026 KidWind Challenge Registration will open on October 1st!

To reserve a place for your team(s) in the 2026 Kansas KidWind Challenge, fill out the form below. For now, we just need your contact info and the number of teams you plan to bring. As soon as you click “Submit,” you should receive a confirmation email. As the event gets closer, we will email you directly to request additional details about your students and teams. In the meantime, visit our KidWind Challenge Resources page to find tips and resources for getting started, rules and logistics, documents, and equipment.

How many teams can I bring? 

When registering, you will choose how many teams your school would like to bring (up to three per age division). However, only two teams per age division per school will be guaranteed initially until registration is full (approx. 16-18 teams per region). This will help to ensure everyone has a fair chance and more schools can participate. The third teams in each age division will be automatically waitlisted. Waitlisted teams will be notified of status by December 16th, 2025.

Your organization must be located in Kansas to participate in the Kansas KidWind Challenge. If you are in Missouri, you may sign up for the NE Overland Park regional event.

Team and Regional Preferences

KEP will update this registration page to indicate when a regional Challenge is full. Even if your preferred Challenge is full, you can still register for the event, but your teams will be placed on the waitlist. Please reach out if you have questions. 

Missouri teachers can attend the NE Overland Park regional event.

Additional Information

Note: wind tunnels are provided on a first-come, first-served basis and you might be limited to a one- or two-week loan period depending on availability. Entering information here does not guarantee a wind tunnel can be provided during your requested time.
By submitting this form, I acknowledge that I might not be able to bring the number of teams I have requested. Depending on registration numbers, KEP may initially limit each school/organization to 2 teams per age division (an additional team will be automatically waitlisted). KEP will notify schools about additional team by December 16th (3rd team).
