2024 State KidWind Challenge Results

The top three finishers in the fourth through eighth-grade division:

  • First place — Hutch STEM Blue team from Allen Magnet School, USD 308, earning 87.9 points out of a possible 100. Team members are Dalton Urban, Samantha Bushue, Audden Guillen, & Gatlin Leopp. The team coaches are Tara Urban and Keith Gable. 
  • Second place — Beloit Breeze Club from Beloit Jr/Sr High School District, USD 273, earning 84.3 points. Team members are Rilee Lundine, Brylee Lepon, Tripp Stillwell, & Colby Albert. The team coach is Christie Fouts.
  • Third place — Black Bears from Sterling Jr/Sr High School, USD 376, earning 80.1 points. Team members are Elizabeth Buchberger, Josie Heter, James McGlynn & Stokley Smith. The team coach is Sydney Wilson. 


The top-three finishers in the ninth through 12th-grade division:

  • First place — W2 (W Squared) from Oakley High School, USD 274, earning 85.3 points. Team members are Emma Mandeville, Kylee Hodges, Maddox Hubert & Gage Eberle. The team coaches are Morgan Berkgren, Jason Bergren, & Corbin Bockwinkle.
  • Second place — Burlington Wind Company BLKT from Burlington High School, USD 244, earning 81.9 points. Team members are Brendan Devening, Logan Ferrara, Kasten Payer, & Tate Sowder. The team coach is Bryan Bruening,
  • Third place — Burlington Wind Company MICZA from Burlington High School, USD 244, earning 78,0 points. Team members are Caden Hartpence, Matthew Dekat, Ivy Ziva Elmore, & Isaac Rinker. The team coach is Bryan Bruening,

Receiving special recognition with the Judges' Favorite Award was Neon Ninjas from Oakley Middle School, USD 274, for the fourth through eighth-grade division, and W2 (W Squared), from Oakley High School, USD 274, for the ninth through 12th-grade division. Receiving special recognition with the Most Improved Award was Burlington Middle School from Burlington Middle School, USD 244, for the fourth through eighth-grade division, and Gentle Breeze from Oakley High School USD 274, for the ninth through 12th-grade division. Receiving special recognition with the Most Artistic Turbine was Neon Ninjas from Oakley Middle School, USD 274.
